Because July 18 is Coming Near, Let's Have Some Updates About the

I’VE JUST realized I’m quite into long titles these days. Well, it’s July 18 on Friday. I’m sure, you have heard a lot about the 8.1 magnitude earthquake that was rumored to hit the Philippines. But let’s have some additional information about the said. From another forwarded...

Tuloy ang Pasko ng mga Bata postponed

LOOK AT how stupid that headline reads. Yes, but it speaks of the truth. The Filipino kids would never experience real Christmas so long as nobody truly cares about them.

Our trip to Kiangkos had just been potponed because the DepEd officials of the Division have not yet prepared their packages, while ours had already been packed last Saturday. And they did not even informed us about the change of schedule.

ANOTHER BAD news:

Marcie loses her wallet
Primary suspect: fellow LET passer

STILL PISSED?off with PRC, we decided to take our lunch after the chaos called Oathtaking Cermonies of Professional Teachers?last Saturday.

Just before we ordered, we realized that Marcie’s bag was missing. Not so long after, my friend and fellow physics major decided that she had left at the venue, so off she went with Ian.

She was crying when she answered my call, “I saw my bag but my wallet is missing.” She added that the bag was already open when she found it still perched on the chair she occupied several hours ago.

MY FILIPINO blog, Batang Kalye has now a new layout!

I also have a new post, which discusses the value of a person. I wrote it two days after reading a comment on my tagboard there. It was not written in defense of myself but as my insight on how we view our fellowmen. It’s my Christmas gift for the world.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I WANTED to draw your attention to this important petition that I recently signed:

“Return the Land of the Sumilao Farmers!”
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/sumilaofarmers?e

I’ve read about on Sir Hecky’s blog.

I really think this is an important cause, and I’d like to encourage you to add your signature, too. It’s free and takes less than a minute of your time.

Thanks!

MY COLLEGE friend, Ivy told me this afternoon?that she is moving to her new (and high-paying)?job?in December. That isn’t a very happy exit, though.

Her bosses, she said, has called her an ungrateful employee, “having been?trained from tabula rasa to being quite knowledgeable of the trade.” Of course, that isn’t true because I know that Ivy is smart and can manage tasks very well.

Her current employer’s attitude is?for me is too full of bitterness. I haven’t heard any negative remarks (like what were spoken of her)?when I left NDMU last September.

The Human Face

Since I was a kid, I have been used to examining my face in the mirror until I?m convinced that I?m good looking due, maybe, to over familiarity. I have developed that habit out of insecurity towards my cousin who also was my classmate in elementary school. The girls in school would always choose to flirt with him and not with me. Yeah, there already were plenty of flirts before, even before they knew that boys have to be circumcised first and that sexual intercourse is necessary before they could get pregnant.

ON THE bus home, I met again?after several months one of my closest college friends. Aside from beer, there is one more thing that binds us together.

aylc7.jpgStruggling with the bags and file folders I got from the office where I previously worked, I hurried got on the bus at about half past two this afternoon to catch up with my appointment with the radiologist at four. Good thing, the guards did not open my bags again. I looked for a vacant seat and noticed a familiar face. Only, this face was more hairy and looked like that of a man?five years older than me. “Ariel,” he called me “it’s you!”
