SHE WAS very ecstatic when she received the message that she won a Toyota Avanza. Judging by the distance she went up in the air as she jumped, I could say that her adrenaline level shot up to stratospheric levels. Several people started calling her. One was Leo Alcantara, who broke to her the news of...

The panorama of Sitio Pait is saddening.

FINALLY, I was able to acquire copies of pictures of our Earth Day Eco-Walk and Tree Growing Activity held on April 25, 2008, for the benefit of the Calminda Watershed, which covers the areas of Barangays Alegria, Bagacay, and Paraiso, Alabel, Sarangani Province.

The protection of the Calminda Watershed is one of the top priorities of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of Alabel. In cooperation with the DENR Provincial Office of Sarangani and the Local Government of Alabel, the office designated portions of the watershed for the different schools in the municipality, the different departments of the LGU, and other organizations to rehabilitate and maintain.

DUMAGUETE, HERE we come!

On April 27, we will be leaving Sarangani for a five-day YES Camp (Youth Environment Summer Camp) at Foundation University, Dumaguete City.

I and  Sir Marco will be chaperoning our students to the Camp. But there are sessions for teachers, also. So, it will definitely be another learning experience for me.

However, I have one problem: I will be shouldering my own expenses because the school doesn’t have funds anymore for the said trip. But it’s okay, I will defer my purchasing a computer ’til next month.

THE SARANGANI leg of the Earth Day Caravan happened today at the Sarangani Provincial Capitol Gymnasium, with the theme: Tubig ay Buhay, Ating Pagyamanin at Linisin.

I used to attend celebrations like this when I was in High School as a member of the Junior Ecologist Movement of our school. This morning was a new chance for me to take part in such an endeavor.

WHEW! I thought I would be actively blogging again, but I failed. It’s just that too many things are happening each day and I can’t find time to blog. Well, anyway, I’m glad I managed to sneak some time for this post.

For alums of Alabel National Science High School, we will have a meeting on April 26, 1 pm at the Male Faculty Lounge, ANSHS Campus. I hope to see you there!

I and Jed of Batch 2007 are already doing the plans ANSHS website.  Although, this has not been formally introduced to the Principal because of the many important things she has to focus on, I believe she would be very glad that we are taking the initiative.

Coping

NO, I am NOT depressed.

They say, if you don’t accept the fact that there is indeed a problem, you can never get it sorted out.  So, if I kept on saying to myself the first line if this post, I would have been in a mental asylum now.

Yeah, my past few days had been stressful. Let me enumerate what those stresses were.

  • I had been busy with school stuff: I had to complete the grades of my students in the four classes I handle. I facilitated the hands-on phase of the screening for incoming freshmen and it was stressful. I was part of the panelist during the seniors’ thesis defense, it, too, was quite a pressure.

The President Who Cried Wolf

THERE IS a President in a land not so far away who pleases herself by making people believe in her lies.

First, she told the people that life would become better for them?they would have plenty of food to eat, roof above their heads, education for their children, and work for the jobless.

But the people experienced none of these. In fact, if you would ask them, they would tell you their lives have become worse. So the people just moved on.

The Game Called Politics

PHILIPPINE POLITICS is a game.?Politicians are champions. And what is up for grabs? The people’s money.

The ZTE Broadband Deal controversy is just one of the many scandals that reveal the true face of the Philippine government. Check the news today and you would be flooded with updates on the offshoots of the scrapped contract with the Chinese business firm–disappearing witnesses and?change of speakership in the Lower House.

This is the prevailing scenario as I see it: The President is so desperate to hold on to power. Thus she is so desperate to?clean up the mess.
