What's Keeping Me Busy These Days

ShareWHEW! I thought I would be actively blogging again, but I failed. It’s just that too many things are happening each day and I can’t find time to blog. Well, anyway, I’m glad I managed to sneak some time for this post. For alums of Alabel National Science High School, we will have...

ISN’T DAVAO City the largest in the Philippines?

According to Wikipedia, it is indeed the largest city in the country with a total land area of 2,444 square kilometers.

Contrary to this fact, my trip to Davao last Saturday just disproved that. Not that I measured the land area, but it felt like the city is just so small.

Leann, a college friend, and I went to Davao last Friday to follow-up our yearbook. It was a very long overdue. I doubt if the people at the printing press ever touched it since we last checked it a semester ago.

While looking for a place to spend the night, we met Borgee around the corner in front of Apo View Hotel. I only met him once, it GenSan. It was quite a suprise.

The next day, Leann had to buy a green shirt so went to the nearby mall. On the way there, I spotted Roge, a working student at NDMU. He now moved to Davao. He was racing against time to school so we didn’t have the chance to talk.

There were very few people in the mall when we came. But the number of people grew when we were about to go out. On the way to the exit, I recognized a familiar face. He was standing right beside the pathway, waiting for his friends. It was Van, a fellow AYLC alumnus. We haven’t met for three years and had no communication after that. He was more suprised than we were.

When we went out, we decided to just walk our way to the printing press. On the way there, we spotted Macky, another college friend. He knew that we were in Davao but we didn’t plan to meet because we knew we would be busy and he was busy, too. He’s reviewing for the board exam. We didn’t know his location and he didn’t know ours, too. So, it was just amazing to see him.

Just before going home, we decided to drop by Octagon computer center to check the price of computers we’re planning to buy one day. Around the corner we bumped into Christopher, a colleague in Pathways, our org in College. Of course, we asked about his whereabouts and we learned that he’s assigned in Cotabato City.

Actually, these encounters had nothing to do with the land area of Davao City. But it’s just amazing. In a city the size of Davao, the probability of our acquaintances crossing our way is very slim. It looked like the meetings were pre-arranged. It felt like like there was something metaphysical. Haha.

But of course, we couldn’t discount the fact that we were at the heart of the city. So, it was just likely to happen.

I’m just wondering, why is that whenever I go to Davao with Leann, we always have amazing experiences. The last we went there, we discovered that there are two Bangoy streets in Davao.

That’s all for now. It’s Monday again tomorrow. Back to work.
