Yearend Special: The Evolution of Homeward Bound

Ayel

THIS MIGHT sound like a copy cat post from Jehz, the Philippines’ blogging ans SEO guru. *wink* Just let me do so as it is the appropriate thing to do as the year ends…especially if you change theme as often as I did this year.

Let me continue…

Homeward Bound was born out of a prize I won in a blog writing contest more than a year ago. Thanks to Shari for paving the way to my owning and loving a self-hosted WordPress. In other words, I have only learned self-hosted blogging for that long. Although, I have been blogging (without earning) for over four years before I was introduced to a more “professional” blogging. Jehz, Winston, Aethen, Tanom, Richard, and BrVince were my “colleagues” then. Now, they all have soared the heights of the blogging industry. Well I have ascended, too, but only a bit.

So let’s take a look back at how this blog evolved…

This is Homeward Bound's first header. That's animated.

I got tired of making headers. My blog turned minimalistic.

As has always been said. Nothing is constant in this world but change. We call that the law of entropy in physics. So let me present to you a new look for the new year!

For this template, I’m using an unsigned Revolution theme called Church. You have to pay in order to access support from the maker of this theme. There are also very few help found online so I made some modifications based on the things I have learned though blogging. This is a sort of a practicum for me. Well, I’m glad with how it turned out.

Happy new year to everyone! Hope to see you here for the rest of 2009.
