Out for Three Days in the Wilderness

ShareI MISSED it. It’s been six years already, since I last went out for a scouting event. The last one was the 12th National Jamboree in Palo, Leyte in the last days of 2001 up to the first few days of 2002. I’m going back to the old times as I attend the basic training for troop leaders...

We're Going to Gumasa Tomorrow!

I’M NOT quite sure if our activity tomorrow will really be relaxing. Sometimes, going out on trips doesn’t seem to relieve my stress. I’m quite apprehensive that tomorrow might be one of those stressful trips because we are going with what, over a thousand public school teachers in Sarangani?

I’ve always loved Gumasa with its very laid back setting. The white sand beaches have always been inviting. I hope the natural beauty of the place will overpower whatever apprehensions I have at this moment. My co-teacher Eljay and I have already promised to return to school with our skin sun kissed. Haha.

There would be food (and surprise gifts, we’ve heard) courtesy of our Gov. Migs Dominguez. But the facuty have agreed to prepare something for our group. I’ll be bringing boiled bananas and sweet potato (nilagang saging at kamote). Yay!

By the way, I met The Maestros last Saturday. They had a songwriting workshop in GenSan, which really thrilled my poetic soul and gift of music. It was only there that I’ve learned Champ of Hale is Nonoy Tan’s son. He’s also proud of his other son, Chino who’s a VJ on Myx. Now, I spend my idle moments at home trying my luck at writing some marketable songs with my trusty guitar.

Have a great day, everyone!
