YEAH, WE are cramming, too, just to comply with the requirements. You have to prepare a TOS based on your lesson plan and translate that into questions. Then you encode your questions, print it, and have it reproduced. Sounds easy but it squeezes life out of me. (Not really. Haha.) It’s just that I have to devise tricky questions for my smart students. You know, they’re not your ordinary students. It’s not an easy job, really.
But maybe, I’m just saying this because I’m still new to this setup. Once I have made my own test bank I expect that it would be a lot easier like it is now for my fellow teachers here.
Actually, it’s before and after the exam week that is straining. During the exam week, all you need to do is motivate your students to be psychologically prepared for the exam. After that, the bloody job begins — correcting the paper, especially the essay part. Then you’ll record them, discuss them to your students, analyze test items for possibility of reteaching, compute their grades, and possibly discuss their grades to them.
So, if you’re handling more than three subjects, it’s more than thrice the excitement!
