WHAT A creative title! (Harhar!) But that is exactly what this post is about. Let me tell you what I’m into these days.
THE BLOGGING SEMINAR. It’s still not very clear up to this day. Loreen and I are working hard for this in preparation for the Mindanao Bloggers Summit 2, which will be held in GenSan on October 25. What is good is that we’ve now found a partner organization. However, our contact person is not as enthusiastic as we are about this project. He’s quite hesitant and pessimistic. But, of course, we won’t allow to be influenced. We will influence him, instead. There are plenty of problems like venue and availability of speakers. But we hope to settle things as soon as possible.
THE CHOIR COMPETITION. I attended our practice this afternoon. Yes, our church choir is joining a competition, which is part of my town’s (Alabel, Sarangani Province) 37th Foundation Anniversary, called Kasadyaan Festival. Read the rest of this entry »

Ivan Raborar, A South Cotabateño on Project Runway Philippines
AMIDST THE negative news we hear about Mindanao, here’s a lighter info. While browsing aome blogs, I found out that a local fashion designer, Ivan Raborar, 23, is on the fashion reality show, Project Runway Philippines on etc.
On the show’s third episode, he was described to be a fast-worker. Although, I guess, he has yet to prove what he’s got as a fashion designer. But who knows the next top Pinoy fashion designer would come from South Cotabato?

Are We Still Safe Here?
I REALLY don’t know. I am acknowledging this fear that envelops our place these days. Some unconfirmed reports reach us that there was an encounter at this place, a bomb exploded at that school, etc.
We find it difficult to bring back our students’ motivation to learn after what happened yesterday.
Conflicts still arise as to whether there really are threats or not. Maybe, the enemies will come. Or, maybe not. How will we know? What should we do?
Stay calm? Be vigilant? The authorities tell us that. But don’t these words [calm and vigilant] mean opposite to each other?
How could we move on from this unrest?

For the Children
Posted by ayel in Current Events, Leadership, Sarangani, Teaching on August 20th, 2008
IT COULD just be paranoia but we could never risk the safety of our children.
12:52 PM Our principal called for an emergency meeting, the second meeting we had today that zeroed in on matters of safety and security. The schools has received calls that messages were circulating about schools in General Santos City whose students and teachers were hostaged. We were not very sure of the report but for the reason that we have to secure the safety of our students, we have decided to send them home. Read the rest of this entry »

Posted by ayel in Blogging, Current Events, People, Personal on August 18th, 2008
ISN’T HE just an amazing swimmer, Michael Phelps, winning a total of 16 Olympic medals? That is even more than what a country’s whole batch of athletes could bring home after an olympic event. Only very few people could earn success of such magnitude.
In the Beijing Olympics, he garnered eight gold medals, whoich earned him the record of most number of gold medals won. Here’s what I got from wikipedia about the events he won in Beijing: Read the rest of this entry »
