I’VE JUST realized I’m quite into long titles these days.
Well, it’s July 18 on Friday. I’m sure, you have heard a lot about the 8.1 magnitude earthquake that was rumored to hit the Philippines. But let’s have some additional information about the said.
From another forwarded email, I have learned that there really exist doomsday predictions for 2008. But the facts that were circulating few weeks ago were not quite true.
First off, the name of the foreteller is not Juseeleno Nobulega Daroose, as was circulated. Close, but not quite. The name of the person is, reportedly, Jucelino Nobrega da Luz. He is a Brazillian psychic. You might want to confirm the information by Googling it. You”ll find a lot of blogs and news organizations websites discussing the matter.
This man, da Luz, according to online sources did prophesy some destruction for the month of July. Here’s an excerpt

I’M VERY glad, you know, that I’m not the only one who’s getting more and more excited to learn about physics. Some of my students are sometimes overly excited about the topics we’re discussing and some future topics I asked them to start reading about.
I think it’s just fine to talk about my students in this blog.
There’s my student named Gwenathan who would always ask me questions from time to time, asking me to explain this phenomena, that equation, etc. I admit, I’ve never been that interested in physics when I was in high school. I was just amused when I was able to figure out the Bernoulli equation back then and what it meant. But Gwenathan is different. He comes up to me during my free time (and sometimes, even when I’m having my lectures in other classes) to ask questions. Wouldn’t you be glad to have a student like that?

IN MY previous posts, I told you that I found it difficult to handle three year levels, and a total of seven classes a day. It was made more difficult by the fact that expectations are high and that I’m still in the adjustment stage, learning the art and trying to cope with the challenges. I actually appreciate the situation because I am being pushed out of my comfort zone, thus, I get to learn what I need to learn at an optimum rate.
In other words, I’m enjoying it.
However, I worry about my health. I don’t want to continue staying up all night preparing lesson plans and instructional, or checking students’ output, because I have no more time to do them in school. I also worry about losing my energy and diminishing my effectiveness.

FINALLY, I’ve made up my mind, here’s my ten Emerging Influential Blogs in 2008 organized by Janette Toral:
- MusikaCentral – It’s my music blog. Well, nobody said you couldn’t nominate your own blogs. So I did nominate my other blog. Haha. It’s only about four months old and I have lots of plans for it. My ultimate goal is to present the music taste of people down south of Mindanao.
- Journeys to the Soul – This is my Book Review Blog. It’s also about four months old and I also have plans for its improvement. Through this blog, I’m looking forward to being to encourage the people within my circle of influence to make reading a habit.
