Welcoming Myself Back!
IT HAS been quite long since my last post because of a lot of things that happened in the past few days.
My sisters who are living in Bulacan went home for my mother’s 66th Birthday. We also had a family reunion because it had been seven years already since the last time they were here.
We fussed a lot about their coming and for my mother’s party. I bought a sala set for mother because I know that it was one of her wishes. I would always hear her say how much she wants to replace our old furniture at home, so I took it as a clue.
We change the arrangement of our home’s look to make it more welcoming. We had general cleaning and, in fact, we practiced waste segregation. One of my sisters works in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, heading the solid waste management program. It would really be great trouble if she arrives and sees our garbage all mixed up.
My mother’s party was simple but meaningful. We invited our pastor and he added more meaning to the celebration. There was much food, which my sisters, themselves cooked. They are such good cooks that I’m afraid I would be adding a few more inches to my waistline. Lol.
A very big family
That night we decided to have a family picture taken. But we had a problem, we did not have enough space in our home. All twelve siblings of mine were there. So, there were 15 of us in the picture, including my Nanay and Tatay. After the family picture, we also posed with my more than 30 nieces and nephews and we just laughed at the fact that we can’t all be in the picture.
The next day, the whole family went to the beach, where we had so much fun. I couldn’t remember the last time were together on the beach.
My sisters are leaving next week but three of their kids will be left. None of them wants to leave our home. I believe they are enjoying the company of their many cousins here. They might even be transferring here, the kids. How blissful that would be!
Just Got My PRC License!
Yesterday, I and Leann went to Davao to claim our License from the Professional Regulation Commission. I had so much fun and at the same time a lot of things went on my mind.
Leann came with me because she hadn’t been to the new PRC office ever, while I’ve been three times this year. She almost cried when the staff played a joke on her, telling her that her License was not due for release.
We had our lunch at Antonio’s inside SM, were the food was really very good. We would have spent much longer if she was not complaining that she was having dysmenorrhea.
We took the jeepney in going to and from the terminal. We enjoyed the sights and thought of coming back to the place, maybe, staying in a Davao Hotel or just go around the city.
When we were going home, we looked at our licenses over and over again, still unbelieving that we’re already professionals with our childish mindset.
Our Yearbook’s Done!
I also went back to Marbel to finish our yearbook, which is already a long overdue. I was supposed to finish it mid-February according to my schedule but I wasn’t able to finish it on time for some reason.
But I’m glad that, finally, that one burden is almost off my shoulder.
When I went back to NDMU, one of my friends invited me to work their again because they have one vacant position in the same office I worked more than six months ago. But I told them I’m already happy here. But I’m not closing doors just yet.
These are the things that kept me busy in the past few days. Now, I’m back and will blogging a lot soon! Happy summer, everyone!
