Why Do You Blog?

FOR MY part in the Blogging Seminar in Marbel, I will be talking on the Basics of Blogging.
One of the questions I will be presenting is “Why Blog?”
To stress my point that anyone blog for any reason, I would like to gather replies from active bloggers like you. Please leave a comment on this post and share your purpose for maintaining a blog.

1. I want to share my views on the goings on in our country.
2. I want to open the eyes of the youth and if possible, influence them to take a more proactive role in nation building.
3. I blog for advocacy and what better way to get the message across through blogging.
4. I have to make a stand against corrupt leaders and this is one way of expressing my disgust.
5. I am an idealist and this is one way of sharing my principles and ideals.

I used to blog because it was a fad and a friend of mine sort of influenced me to do it. I enjoyed blogging and I was surprised when people like you actually read what I wrote and commented.
Now, my reason for blogging is still to impress, I mean, express.
And, also because I have this fear of losing my memory when I get old so blogging might help me when that actually happens.

I started blogging because I always envied my Ate who had a blog. She always asked me to help her out on the HTML part. That motivated me to blog on my own and hone my HTML skills at the same time. That drive did not last long until ..
MAY 2007
I started blogging again. My topic was internship experiences and my summer vacation. That was the time I found blogging FUN.
Now for the real question: Why Do I Blog?
1.) I love to do it.
2.) It has been my alternative allowance stream.
3.) It brings me closer to an array of strangers.
4.) It widens my horizon. I have found part-time programming projects thru my blog.

I always love to write though d nmn ako ganun kagalingan… Sometimes it’s much easier na sabihin point mo thru writing… I also love browsing the internet from time to time… so last 2003 I discovered blogspot and decided to do two things I love and converge it into one which is blogging… Tsaka it is part of a release from pressure, writing stuff I don’t usually tell to anyone… mas meron akong freedom thru blogging kase… tsaka I get to post my drawings, artworks, photos and opinions and have a wider range of people taking a look at them… mas nakikilala at naiintindihan nila ako… e2 lang tlaga reason ko hehehe… hope naintindihan mo point ko…

Blogging helps me to exercise freedom of expression. I can write almost anything and everything. It is also a means of gaining friends online. But most of all, blogging allows me to share with other people the things I experience. By writing in my blog, I make them see what I see, feel what I feel. That way my life is shared by more and more people. Thus to some I secretly become an inspiration, a hero. like you, Ayel, some of your stories inspire people to work hard at what they do. “You” are a hero.

At first it was just for fun, since I have a computer and an Internet connection. I was browsing and looking for something new and I stumbled upon people who are into blogspot and I saw “Create your own blog” and wow I was surprised that anyone can make his own blog just like the one i am reading. That’s how it all started, first I have no direction for my blog since I’m not really a good writer at all. Then it evolves to what it is now and I’ve added a few more blogs to write. I find it addicting now and also to cure my boredom and to my surprise, I am started to writing on things that interest me. It did not occur to me that through this medium I have accumulated readers who comes back to my blog regularly. That is something I did not expect.
After a while I learned that we can also earn something out of what we are doing and it give me extra inspiration to go on blogging more. Since I still have the time to do it, I am making the most out of my extra time looking for ideas to publish and hope that people will be intrested in the things that interest me too.
This also helped me a lot in expressing myself and become more creative in ways I did not know that I have the capability to do before I started blogging.

Aside from it serves as a medium to express my thoughts and feelings.
It gives me chance to develop my skill in writing.
Other people can read my write ups and by dropping down their comments(criticisms or praises) they motivate me to seek for ways on how to improve myself or even to write more for i’ve seen that they appreciate my works…
I blog because other people might know me better through this;
- they will see my inner side for this is the outlet of my self-reflections.
-Blogging also improves my knowledge and awareness about social issues.
-Through blogging, i can apply what i’ve learned from school by sharing objective concepts about a certain topic or an issue.
-Blogging also develops both of my inter and intrapersonal skills for i reflect and meet new friends.
-I blog because i believe that it is already a part of the modern world’s culture.
-Blogging does not mean that i just want people to appreciate me, i do blogging because i want to share my learnings, talent, and my conceptualizations about the things happening today.

I blog because it is my outlet for what/how I feel about different things. Life, career,kahit mang-okray,go lang. Ang saya lang magsulat. It also feels good kapag nagbibigay ng comment ang ibang bloggers =). It’s “mababaw” pero yun ang reasons ko. Happy blogging!=)

“why BLOG?”
i always wanted to be a writer… a good writer.
..someone who writes for a magazine or newspaper or having my own book.
i used to have a notebook with compilations of my poems and short literary compositions.honestly, i really don’t know if i am getting better with my compositions everyday and besides i’m shy to have my friends read it.
friendster came but i wasn’t even aware about the blog. i remember the only application close to publishing is through a “post bulletin”. i posted one of my works there then one day, i got a message from someone commenting about my work. he liked the story.
then i surfed the internet to be able to find a site wherein i can post my works online. and then there’s the blogosphere… where the the freedom of expressing online begins.

i used to blog in friendster last year.my motivation was the break-up between me and my ex. It was to painful that I had to write things up about what happened (not in particular of course). Until I realize that I’m blogging for my own sake and not for the sake of hating and hurting.
I transferred in blogger coz I had to keep myself away to those people who’s involved in the fall out. When I started saying things in my friendster blog, they still thought that i’m still pertaining to my ex boyfriend. Geesh. those people started spreading rumors about my write ups. They were obviously paranoid and that I have to take an action.
Months passed and I started loving the blogger world with my write ups for myself and the others. From there, I also realized that I’m already doing my thing by showing everybody that I can also be a good writer in my own ways without any restrictions and all.
Now I finally proved myself something than Singing as always.

ako po ay nag boblog para ipa alam sa buong pilipinas, pati sa buong mundo na marunong akong mag type at gumamit ng keyboard
pero sa totoo, ako po ay nag boblog pari mai bahagi ang aking nalalaman sa kapwa pilipino, tao man o hayop. Mahilig akong mag kwento at mag patawa, kaya ang blog ko ay puro walang kwentang nakakatawang mga kwento at mga kwento, at mga kwento… puro kwento ang laman ng mahiwaga kong blog…
bakit mahiwaga ang blog ko? kasi kahit di na ako ang boblog.. may nangungulit parin at nagtatanong ng mga tanong na di nila masagot, na umaasa sila na kaya kong sagutin, kahit wala namang kwenta ang aking mga kasagutan, ay tanong parin sila ng tanong… kaya yun.. yun na yun

pero, hanggang ngayon, kahit di na ako makapagblog sa jemme.net ay nag boblog parin ako sa aking isipan… ang utak ko ay may database, at blog platform, kung san, nasusulat ko at na sesave ang mga gusto kong sabihin, at e blog. Kahit offline ay pwede akong mag blog.. at kahit namatay na si Rizal.

I love to write and read. Blog is bout writing and reading. In writing blogs, I can express my feeling and share great things. In reading, I know different people and learn different things.
