Small Fish in a Huge Pond

ShareTOO MUCH work to do. Too little time. (I actually bought a time-mangement book last week. I hope it could help me make the most of the 24 hours God gave me in a day.) You can’t imagine what I’ve been through in the last few days that I haven’t even got the time to do what I can...

WELCOME 2008!

I am finally saying good bye to the year that has just passed. But to start the new year, I think it’s just but good to take a look back at what had happened in the last 365 days. Let me call this my Yearender.

JAN-FEB – I started my 2007 with the question of whether I was cut for teaching or not. Then I started to love teaching and to find somebody to love. Then I found myself busy completing my requirements for graduation. In the midst of that, I was doing my duties to my fellow students. I performed at the Pathways benefit concert after getting sick.

MAR-APR – I started feeling the anxiety as graduation nears. I was given an award during the Araw ng Pagkilala. I presented my research in the Research Forum and got some cash for it. Haha. I wrote the controversial article, which was questioned for its false logic. I had my graduation and birthday celebration?and started working as research and publication assistant at NDMU. Then boredom followed.

MAY-JUN – Boredom continued but photography helped me cope. Then I had mid-life crisis. Haha. Kidding. I was unhappy. Then I caught the viral tag. I wrote my 250th post, received a message from Dr.?Jose Rizal. Then I found my link on a post on Manuel L. Quezon III’s blog; he visited my blog! I started working as PRO of the Alumni Association.

JUL-AUG – Wrote the first partnership post with Aethen. I was saved from a tragedy. My blog entered Pinoyblogosphere’s top 100 blogs. Then I started writing a series of posts about the T’nalak Festival. I started working as private tutor after office. Then I learned the worth of my blog in dollars. I finished the President’s Report and created a header for Digital Detours. I spoke on team-building activities and leadership seminars. I celebrated my third year in blogging! I joined the Wika 2007 blog writing contest. I wrote my 300th post. Then I took my LET board exam.

SEPT-OCT - September began with?a tough decision to make. I won a special prize in the Wika 2007 blog writing contest. I left NDMU for a teaching job at Alabel National Science High School where I teach now. I started teaching at ANSHS. This blog was given birth! I lost my flash disk. I passed the LET! I met my fellow bloggers?at the 1st MBS. I played 1vs100 with my class. I tried doing paid posts and earned from it.?

NOV-DEC?- I receive my first payment for the paid posts. I tried to?help my lost friend. I wrote a series of posts about Sarangani in tune with the 5th Munato Fest. Joined the campaign to support the Sumilao Farmers. Joined the Intel Science Fair–but now as a teacher. Created a new layout for Batangkalye. Vented out my blurbs about how stupid the people in PRC are. Kidding. They are not all stupid. Took oath as a licensed teacher. I got my?Board Exam?rating, 87.20.?And finally I took a break to celebrate Christmas.

To top it all my old blog, Thoughts of A Wandering Soul, made it to the Top 100 Blogs in 2007 of Mindanaobloggers.com. My blog took the 8th spot. See the full list here.

The past year has taught me a lot of things and I am glad that I have this blog to witness all that I have been through.

On the lighter side, the past year has also proven how unreliable horoscopes are. Really. It was written in my horoscope that 2007 would be my most traveled year. It turned out that the farthest place I’ve been?to this year is Davao. I promise myself not believe in horoscopes anymore. Haha. Of course, I never did.

I’ll be posting my new year’s resolutions very soon.

Have a great day, everyone!

Wow. Now my question is answered. You really had a busy year that’s why you were not around for ages! Kidding aside, we should really thank God for “the year that was” despite the problems we’ve faced. I’m pretty sure you’ll be busier than ever this 2008.

Nice to have you back, kuya ayel! (:
